Obituary of Doreen R. Sackie

SACKIE - Doreen Rita (Fuller), 58, of Nanty Glo, passed away June 27, 2015 at home after an extended illness. Born January 12, 1957 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Chester Fuller and Louise Fuller-Byich. Preceded in death by parents, step-father Paul Byich and father-in-law & mother-in-law, Albert & Anna Sackie. Survived by loving husband of 35 years, William G. Sackie; sister Carol (Ed) Williamson, of Nanty Glo; Aunt, Rita (Dimetri) Rozum, of Waterbury, CT.; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann (William) Gongloff, Deborah (Dennis) Harvey, Barbara Manculich, and Katherine (Thomas) Deskevich; nephews: Michael (Danielle) Williamson, Mark (Sarah) Williamson, John (Debra) Gongloff, William (Michelle)Gongloff, Phillip & Justin Manculich; nieces: Sheri (Jamie) Cesarz, Shannon (Tim) Gongloff Chapman, and Ashley Deskevich, and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Doreen had been a hairstylist at the Regis Hair Salon at the Galleria Mall for many years. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens at home. She had attended St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Nanty Glo. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday the Rev. Robert Oravetz, officiating. Interment at Pike Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doreen s memory may be made to her family.
