Beltz - Joseph, 94 of Vintondale, died May 11, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 4, 1912 in Nova Scotia, son of the late Anthony and Agnes (Prince) Beltz. Preceded in death by granddaughter Lisa Beltz,; brothers Tony and John; and sisters: Mary Nigro, Annie Rost, and Margaret Toth. Survived by wife, the former Mary Telesko, to whom he was married 70 years and sons: Joseph Jr., Davidsville; Gerald and wife Patricia, Reno, Nevada; James, and wife Annamae, Ebensburg; and Dennis and wife Darlene, of Vintondale; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Brother of Frank Beltz, Strongstown; Josephine Flodine, Pittsburgh; and Jenny Rager, Parma, Ohio.
Joseph was a lifelong coal miner and retired from the former Vinton Coal & Coke Company. Member of U.M.W.A.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, the Rev. Fr. Grigori Tsjuman, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery.
