Obituary of Veronica Sanderson

SANDERSON – Veronica “Sis”, 83, of Nanty Glo, passed away August 16, 2012 at Cambria Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 16, 1929 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Stephen and Ruth (Davis) Kruper. Preceded in death by husband, Leo; great granddaughter, Marissa; and brothers, Paul, James, Donald and Ken. Survived by children, Brett (Jennifer), of Georgia; and Marcy (Paul) Rummel, of Ebensburg. Grandchildren, Jaime (Ryan) Handley, Florida; Nathan (Paige) Cortese, Nanty Glo; Zachary Cortese, Nanty Glo; and Jeremy Rummel, Ebensburg. Sister of John (Leona) Kruper, Fords Corner; Marian (Jerry) McGlynn, Twin Rocks; Kathleen (Francis) Schilling, Belsano; and Ron Kruper, Twin Rocks. Also survived by sisters in law, Yvonne, Dolly, Janice and Linda; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Member of First Baptist Church of Nanty Glo and Nanty Glo Fire Ladies Auxilliary. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where Fire Ladies Auxilliary Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral service will be held at 10a.m.on Monday at the funeral home, Deacon Thomas Buige, officiating. Interment to follow at United Brethren Cemetery, Belsano. In lieu of flowers donations in Sis’s memory may be made to The American Cancer Society.
