FLICK – Elynor R. “Ellie” (McMahon), 101, of Nanty Glo, passed away November 23, 2018 at home, surrounded by her family. Born October 21, 1917 in Shelby, Ohio, daughter of the late Jerome and Martha (Phillips) McMahon. Preceded in death by first husband, Cecil J. Biglin, who was killed in France during WWII; second husband Leo J. Flick; step-sons Leo J. (Elaine) Flick, Jr.; and Joe Flick; step-daughter Dolores (George) Cavanaugh; grandson James Biglin; and sister Mary (Bernard) Young. Survived by children: James (Janet) Biglin, Duncansville; Paula (Terry) Boucher, Harrisville; Mary Ann (Ron) Mychajlonka, Las Vegas, NV; Kathryn (Bill) Smith, Nanty Glo; Ruth (Louis) Leonard, Minnesota; Jack (Sharon) Flick, Nanty Glo; Paul (Diane) Flick, Harrisburg; Norma Jean (John) Hudson, Dolgellau, Wales; and daughter in law Linda Flick, Nanty Glo. Also 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Ellie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem, Ohio, and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Legion of Mary and had served as an Eucharistic Minister. She had worked ten years at the Blacklick Valley High School cafeteria and was a member of the Nanty Glo VFW Ladies Auxillary. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Fr. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Interment at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Bethlehem, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellie’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to AsceraCare Hospice.
