GORE – Barbara L. (Abrams) , 82, of Mundys Corner, passed away November 17, 2012 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born August 7, 1930 in East Wheatfield Twp., daughter of the late Evor and Margaretta (Hullihen) Abrams. Preceded in death by husband David “Daniel” Gore; brother: Lyndol “Lindy” Abrams; Aunt: Mayvaugh Bugal, sister-in-law Lillian Abrams and nephews: Bobby, John and Gary Lee Bosley. Survived by daughter: Terry, wife of Jerry Martin, Ebensburg; grandchildren: Tammi (David) Connah, and Jerry “Scott” (Michelle) Martin, all of Nanty Glo; Charisse Connor, Vinco; and great-grandchildren: Austin Daniel, Dalton Scott, and Blaine Michael Connor, Cody James Connah, and Nathan Scott Martin. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the Nanty Glo Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where many years ago she had served as a Sunday School teacher and enjoyed cooking at the Edinboro Church Camp. Retired from the Ebensburg Center (State School). She enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, and doing ceramics. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, the Rev. Milton C. Vogel, III and Rev. Russell Havener, officiating. Interment at Pike Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Conemaugh Health Foundation – Breast Cancer Program.
