VERBA - Anna Marie (Hegedus), 62 of Vintondale, passed away August 6, 2017. Born July 26, 1955 in Johnstown, PA, daughter of James “Whitey” and Erma (Sandolfini) Hegedus. Preceded in death by parents, and brother, Robert D. Hegedus. Survived by husband and best friend, Joseph Verba, to whom she was married for 43 years; children: Cristie (Richard) Saylor, Benjamin (Heidi) Verba, and Leigh Ann (Eric) Shabbick, grandchildren Lyndon Saylor, Yanessa Shabbick, Jerzie & Brady Verba, and great-grandpuppies Baby and Flea, Brothers and families, Frank (Diane) Hegedus and James (Deborah) Hegedus, mother in law Dot Verba, Brothers in law and families, David (Carole) Verba, Jeffrey (Tammy) Verba, and Vincent (Tina) Verba, also many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Anna had worked for 20 years as a baker and deli employee at the Gold Crown Foodland in Nanty Glo, and 2 years at the Ideal Market in Vinco, before retiring in 2014 to care for her aging mother. She will be long remembered for her cooking. Anna enjoyed camping in Potter County and spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Anna was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Vintondale and most recently a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Nanty Glo. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Deacon Thomas Buige, officiating. Interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Twin Rocks.
