SPRINGER – Earl Joseph, 86, of Jackson Twp., passed away Feb. 15, 2013 at home. Born June 5, 1926 in Nicktown, son of the late Raymond and Angie Springer. Preceded in death by daughter, Patty Kay Springer; brothers, James and Eugene; and sister, Lorraine Springer. Survived by wife, the former Helen Nealen; children, Dolores and Donald; grandchildren, Harry “Sonny”; Earl “Spike”; Dusty; and Lindsey. Brother of Bernice McKenzie; Clair Springer; Doris Finley; and Betty Marquard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner. Retired mechanic for Bethlehem Mines Corp. Member UMWA Local 1386. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the casinos. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes. Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. John Vianney Church, the Very Rev. Andrew C. Stanko,VF,celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
