SCHIRATO - Rita Jane (Hoover), 90, of Nanty Glo, died October 19, 2011. Born February 21, 1921 in Ebensburg, daughter of the late Morgan and Jessie (Lauer) Hoover. Preceded in death by husband, Mario; son, Daniel A. Schirato; grandsons, Richard McDonald and Brian Schirato; brothers, Merle, Ralph, James and Joseph; sisters, Martha, Ruth, Lucille, Barbara, Clista and Sarah; sons in law, Ron McDonald and David Phillipson. Survived by children, Rita McDonald; Marlene (Terry) Matejovich; Ronald (Chris) Schirato; Cindy (Stefan) Molinick; Robert (Brenda) Schirato; and Lisa Howard.17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Lester Hoover; sister, Harriet Maurey; numerous nieces and nephews; son in law, Hoby Howard; and daughter in law, Theresa Schirato. Member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nanty Glo; Altar & Rosary Society and Nanty Glo VFW Ladies Auxillary. Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10am Monday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Martin Cingle, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita's memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church or to The Blacklick Valley Ambulance Service.
