MONYAK - John Mark, 68, a resident of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home and formerly of Jackson Twp., passed away September 1, 2007 at the Altoona Reginal Health System - Bon Secour Campus. Born October 29, 1938 in Nanty Glo, son of the late John and Irene (Matejovich) Monyak. Survived by his sister, Dorothy Dugan, of Ebensburg and several nephews. John had been employed in the maintenance department at Jackson Twp. A US Army veteran of the Vietnam era and recipient of the good conduct medal and the expert rifle mortar. He had also served in the US Army Reserves. At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at St. Mary s Cemetery, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Fr. Paul Robine, officiating. Arrangements by the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
