Obituary of Sophie Lonesky

LONESKY Sophie (Zoski), 85, of Vintondale, went to be with the Lord Oct. 11, 2014. Born February 12, 1929 in Hamtramck, Michigan, daughter of the late Paul and Mary Zoski. Preceded in death by husband, Harry Spunk ; brothers, Johnnie, Tom, Louis, Tony, Walter and Ted; sister, Helen; and grandchildren, Nikole, Christopher and Mark. Survived by children, Chrisie (John) Piatiak; Greg (Linda) Lonesky; Harry (Rose) Lonesky; Mark (Patti) Lonesky; Paul Lonesky; and Bob Lonesky. Also survived by 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jennie Kaminski and Fran Courneya; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, Vintondale and presently St. Mary s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Retired from Ebensburg Center. Sophie loved family vacations and get togethers. She was a loving sister, mother and grandmother; and will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary s Catholic Church, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Committal to follow at St. Mary s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sophie s memory may be made to St. Mary s Church.
