BROAD – Mary Ellen, 80, of Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg, passed away March 27, 2013.Born Dec. 2, 1932 in Johnstown, daughter of the late William C. and Margaret R. (Seth) Broad. Preceded in death by infant brother, William; brothers, Bernard Francis and Joseph Paul; and sister, Theresa B.Witt. Survived by sisters and brothers, Margaret Dugan; Rose Szwast; Rita (Ronald) Fye; Robert (Geraldine) Broad; Thomas (Rainie) Broad; and James (Margaret) Broad;as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A resident of Cambria Care Center for 7 ½ years. Member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner, where she directed the choir and also was Director of Religious Education. Mary Ellen had been a school teacher for nearly 35 years. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing. Funeral Mass will be held at 10a.m.on Tuesday at St. John Vianney Church, the Very Rev. Andrew C. Stanko, VF, celebrant. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo In lieu of flowers contributions are asked to be made to The Alzheimer’s Association in Mary Ellen’s memory. Arrangements by the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes. Inc., Nanty Glo.
