BANFIELD - Robert "Bob" Jr., 78, Revloc, passed away Oct. 25, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 13, 1927, in Revloc, son of the late Robert J. Sr. and Thelma Mae (Hawksworth) Banfield. Preceded in death by son, George; brother, George; and sister, Peggy Sowolla. Survived by wife, the former Dorine MacBlaine; children, Janice (Tim) Anderson, Revloc; Sheldon (Dawn), Jackson Township; and Thelma (Carl) Wick, Nanty Glo, with whom he resided; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and special niece who was always there for him, Doreen Roub, Windber. World War II Army veteran and retired from Bethlehem Mines. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo. Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to his family.
