GROVE - Thomas Carl “Flaps”, 55, of Nanty Glo, passed away peacefully, June 23, 2012 at Windber Hospice. Born June 5, 1957 in Johnstown, son of John L. and Elizabeth (Rhoades) Grove. Preceded in death by mother and nephew Adam Goss. Survived by father, of Mundys Corner; son, Matthew Grove, at home; longtime girlfriend Darlene Rankin, and her daughter Heather, Nanty Glo; brothers and sisters: Sharon (Doug) Crissman, Strongstown; Jeffrey Grove, Portage; Suzanne Persio (Dennis Smolko), Vinco; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Grove of Twin Rocks; and nieces and nephews: Kyle, Kevin, Chelsea & Joshua, also numerous aunts and uncles. Tom was employed as a truck driver for Yanko Brothers Trucking. A member of Nanty Glo Church of the Brethren and a Air Force Veteran. Tom enjoyed fishing, and greatly loved his family and friends. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, Pastor Linda Beachley, officiating. Interment at United Brethren Cemetery, Belsano. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to Windber Hospice
