TOTH – Janet L. (Davie), 85, of Nanty Glo, passed away peacefully October 7, 2018 at Windber Hospice. Born January 8, 1933 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late H. Glenn Davie and Emma (Beard) Millward. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Mary Delores; great-grandson Joseph Reed Minelli, daughter-in-law, Janine (Brooks) Toth, and brother Howdy Millward. Survived by her husband, William Toth, Jr., to whom she was married 64 years, and these children: W. Daniel (Christine) Toth, Melissa, TX; Terry L. Toth, Leola, PA.; Joseph D. Toth, Ponchatula, LA; Gregory M. (Lisa) Toth, Alexandria, PA; Gabrielle (Kelvin) Cuchens, Freeport, FL; David G. (Leah) Toth, Littlestown, PA.; Stephan D. (Nadine) Toth, Loretto; James S. Toth, Nanty Glo; and Vincent R. (Charlene) Toth, of Loretto. Also survived by 26 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, as well as siblings Tom, Dick, Ellen, Anne, Jody, and a large extended family. Janet was a graduate of the former Windber Hospital Training School for Nurses and St. Francis University. She attained her Registered Nurse License and also held and Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Her nursing career included work at Ebensburg & Cresson Centers, Laurel Crest Manor, Conemaugh Hospital, Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home, and the Blair County Home Nursing Agency. She had been a reading competition coach for St. Michael School in Loretto. A member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Nanty Glo and a founding member of the Nant-Y-Glo Tri-Area Museum & Historical Society. Friends will be received from 2-4:00 and 6–8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc. Nanty Glo, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Rev. Fr. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory may be made to the Nant-Y-Glo Tri-Area Museum & Historical Society
