RITCHEY - Velma Jane (Wilson), 88, of Tavares, FL, passed away November 8, 2011. Velma was born in Ehrenfeld, Spent most of her life in the Nanty-Glo – Conemaugh area, and later moved to Tavares, Florida in 2006. She was a homemaker and attended the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Twin Rocks. Velma loved to crochet and work with plastic canvas. She avidly read her Bible. Preceded in death by parents, Roy Oliver and Anna Gertrude (Willman) Wilson; daughters, Evelyn Mae Ritchey and Ruth Refina Ritchey; brothers, Charles Edward Wilson and Oliver James Wilson; sisters, Evelyn Gertrude Landrum, Mazie Wilson and Ruth Eilene Evans; brothers-in-law, Henry Kennedy, Lee Landrum, Francis Evans; daughter-in-law, Martha May Ritchey. Survived by sons, Edward James Ritchey, Johnstown; and Roy Dillon (Bonnie) Ritchey, Laurel Run; daughters, Laura Eilene (Douglas) Briggs, Tavares, FL.; and Anna E. (Donald) Eckman, Stevens, PA; Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Clay Dillon (Vonnie) Wilson, Johnstown; and sister, Aldamae Larue Kennedy, Easton, MD and sisters-in-law Loretta Wilson and Virginia Catherine Wilson. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am on Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Asa Sherman, officiating. Interment to follow at United Brethren Cemetery, Belsano.
