FINDLEY- Russell M., Sr., 88, of Mundys Corner, went to be with the Lord Nov. 14, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital. Born Sept. 18, 1922 in Vintondale, son of the late William and Edna (Michaels) Findley. Preceded in death by son, Robert; brother Wayne; and grandmother Clara Michaels. Survived by wife of 64 years, the former Lorene Reese and children, Russell Jr. and wife Terry; Velma and husband Alan Prebish; Lorene and husband Robert Turner; and Roger and wife Valerie. Very close granddaughters, Chrissy and Theresa; as well as grandchildren, Terrie Ann, Michelle, Joey, Chris, Rob, Delores, Dylan, Josh; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Rolly; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner. WW II Army veteran. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. with 31 ½ years of service. Russell was a devoted husband, father and family man and always opened his door to anyone. He enjoyed square dancing, working on cars, and was a huge John Wayne fan. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10am on Thursday at St. John Vianney Church, the Rev. Andrew Stanko, celebrant. Committal to follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg, with Military Rite by Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers donations in Russell’s memory may be made to his family.
