ORAVEC - Helen (Balog), 92 of Vintondale, died November 28, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center. Born November 30, 1914 in Vintondale, daughter of the late MIchael and Helen (Balog) Balog. Preceded in death by husband Albert L. Oravec; daughter Jean Smith, brothers Peter, John, Charles, and Michael Balog; and sisters Anna Balog and Mary Duffee. Survived by daughters: Eleanor Frank, Great Falls, Montana; Mary Davie, Vintondale; Annamae Beltz, Ebensburg; Paula Popp, Johnstown; and Judith Oravec of Seward, Alaska. Also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and brothers: James Balog, Spring Lake, New Jersey and George Balog, of Johnstown. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Fr. Miraslaw Kulik, officiating. Interment will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Vintondale. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Nanty Glo Public Library or SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Vintondale
