Obituary of Clair C. Smith

Smith - Clair C., 75, of Bethel Road, Ebensburg, died December 10, 2004 at home. Born September 9, 1929 in Clearfield, son of the late Thomas and Viola (Cole) Smith. Preceded in death by wife, the former Hazel Lamar; brothers: Richard, Clifford, Robert & Thomas Smith. Survived by loving children: Patty Shirley, Belsano; Nancy, wife of Jim Yoder, Nanty Glo; Cindy, wife of Ray Rorabaugh, Ebensburg; Lois Rummell, Colver; Ken, married to the former Louise Kuhar, Belsano; Susan, wife of Terry Worthington, Nanty Glo; Ed, married to the former Cathy Silich, Ebensburg; and Jerry, married to the former Missy Schilling, Nanty Glo. Beloved "Pappy" to 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Brother of Frances Rougex, Clearfield, Eugene "Dick" Smith, Indiana; Cleo Stiner, Hanover; June Winning, Nanty Glo; and Jane McGarry, Auburn, Washington. Member of Cardiff Road Church of God, Nanty Glo. Retired in 1978 from Bethlehem Steel Corp., with 28 years of service. Clair enjoyed smoking his pipe, singing Christian songs, his porch swing, going for drives with Cindy and Jennifer, and visiting Sisti's Cafe in Colver. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc. Nanty Glo. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Cardiff Road Church of God, the Rev.
