KACHIK –Francis Paul “Buddy”, 58, of Nanty Glo, passed away Feb. 7, 2019. Born May 27, 1960 in Colver. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Stanley Augustosky and Mary Reese; paternal grandparents, John and Anna Kachik; father, Francis John Kachik; sister, Christine Crosky; uncles, Frank Augustosky and John Kachik; and cousin, Steven Augustosky. Survived by mother, Louise Kachik; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; friends; and sleeping buddy, his pet cat, Rebecca. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Francis went to Columbia School of Broadcasting in Pittsburgh and also worked at the former Cletes Tire and Auto, Mundys Corner. He enjoyed bowling on Malcotti’s Pool League for many years. Francis was formerly employed with AYS, Ebensburg for 32 years. Buddy was an avid Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings fan. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Buddy’s memory may be offered up as spiritual bouquets for masses in his memory.
