CROYLE – Delores Marie, 64, of Loraine Road, Nanty Glo, passed away suddenly September 12, 2009 at home. Born March 15, 1945 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Dowey Phillip and Mary Ann (Mardula) Croyle. Preceded in death by infant son Dowey David. Survived by children: Chris Croyle-Adams, Ebensburg; William (Linda Adams) and Phillip (Theresa Hartman), all of Nanty Glo; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. Also survived by brothers, Dowey Croyle, Nanty Glo and Robert Croyle, Spokane, Washington. Delores enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, cooking, baking, gardening, and spending time with her “grandbabies”. Employed for the last two years as a residential service worker for LifeStyles Support Services. She was also proud of her 20 years with the former BethEnergy Mine #33, where she had served as the first female union continuous coal miner in Pennsylvania. Member of U.M.W.A. Local #850. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, the Rev. Clayton Harriger, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Delores’ memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
