Obituary of Waneda R. Hancharick

HANCHARICK – Waneda R., 86, of Nanty Glo, went to be with the Lord Feb. 13, 2019 at home. Born Dec. 15, 1932 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Theodore and Maryann (Shaffer) Britten. Preceded in death by husband, John M. Hancharick; sisters, Hermeana Hammer and Thelma Butala; brothers, Theodore and Harold Britton; and in laws, George and Helen Krempasky; John and Mary Demchak; Patricia Britton; Joe Hancharick; and Fred Younkin. Survived by children, John Hancharick; Ann (fiance, Gene) Garrett; Marge Knopp; and David (Karen) Hancharick. Grandchildren, Daniel (fiance, Stacie); Vanessa (Todd); Kristine; Emily; and Paul. Great Grandchildren, Manny, Maggie and Madison. Also survived by brothers, Robert (Caroline); Arthur (Nancy); and Porter (Mary); brother in law, John Butala; sisters in law, Marge Younkin; Kaye Hancharick; and Lee Britton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. The family would like to thank Penn Hospice caregivers, Crystal, Tracy Ann and Robin and all others for their loving care and support. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Waneda’s memory may be made to the family.
