Obituary of David Joseph McNulty

MCNULTY – David Joseph, 54 of Altoona; passed away suddenly of an apparent heart attack on September 6, 2016 at home.  Born October 28, 1961 in Spangler, son of Paul F. and Dorothy (Bertison) McNulty.  Preceded in death by paternal grandparents Augustine and Roseanne McNulty and maternal grandparents Joseph & Ida Bertison.  Survived by loving parents at home; loving sisters and brother:  Paula McNulty, Altoona; Marianne (Tim) Houser, Ebensburg;  Kevin (Darla) McNulty, Altoona; Linda (Greg) Servello, Altoona; and Monica (Mark) Liebal, Roaring Spring; and loving nieces and nephews:  John Paul (Vanessa), Joseph, Cecilia, & Claire Houser; Daniel (Liz) McNulty; Jill (Ryan) DeWeese; Alex (Jessica) McNulty; Isaac & Morgan McNulty; Nick, Jackie, Dorothy, Dana & Kim Servello; Tori, Meg, Paul & Emily Liebal; and loving great nieces and nephews:  Sebastian & Adelaide Houser, Meredith, Samantha, Lainey & Case McNulty; Naomi, Aiven, Tobias DeWeese; Hayli & Teagan McNulty.   David had attended St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona. He was a 1979 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School.  He had been employed for many years at his brother’s garage, McNulty’s Auto Center.  He enjoyed time with family, history (especially the civil war), hunting, fishing, (as well as watching people hunt and fish) and Altoona Curve & Pittsburgh Pirate Baseball.  David enjoyed his annual trips to the Outer Banks with his family, a tradition of almost forty years.  Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m., Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., 300 N. Julian Street, Ebensburg; where a vigil prayer service will be held.  Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at St Theresa Church, the Rev. D. Timothy Grimme, celebrant.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory may be made to the children’s charity of your choice.
