SHANK – Carol E., 78, of Mundys Corner, went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2019. Born Oct. 26, 1940 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Royden and Arvilla Dishong. Preceded in death by husband, Robert “Smiley”, Jr; grandson, Remington R. Rose; brothers, Earl and Don; sisters in law, Eileen and Sara; and brother in law, Tom (Pat) Shank. Survived by daughters, Kerry (Mike) Mukina; Traci (Remington) Rose; and Bobbie Lynn (Ryan) Yonish. Granddaughters, Kelley (Luke) Knapic, Shelby and Katie Yonish. Sister of Dot (Elwood) Bracken; Kay Summerson; Barry Dishong; Susan (Robert) Folckemer; and Linda (Pick) Johnson. Also survived by sisters in law, Bernice Dishong and Judy (Gary) Rose; brother in law, George (Colleen) Shank; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lifetime member of Pike Grace Brethren Church, Mundys Corner, where she taught Sunday School, S.M.M., helped in Cubbies and Women of Grace. Carol enjoyed camping, gardening, spending time with her family and also loved her cats. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. A Celebration of the Life of Carol E. Shank will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Pike Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Rudy Sheptock, officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery.
