Obituary of JoAnn (Warmus) Buchanan

BUCHANAN - JoAnn (Warmus), 85, of Amber Springs, Johnstown, formerly of Vinco, passed away September 15, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. Born November 23, 1933 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Michael and Sophie (Kufel) Warmus. Preceded in death by husband James J. “Bucky” Buchanan; son, David J. Buchanan; daughter, Christine M. Buchanan; and sister, Theresa Todd. Survived by children, James (Natalie) Buchanan; and Cheryl (James) Swartzentruver; daughter in law, Kathy Buchanan; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Michael (Barbara) Warmus; and sister, Barbara Lopez, and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Mundys Corner, the Community Prayer Group, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at St. John Vianney Church, the Rev. Fr. Andrew Draper, TOR, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo.
