TRAVIS - George, Jr., 81, of Nanty Glo, passed away April 12, 2007 at home. Born August 31, 1925 in Homer City, son of the late George Sr. and Margaret Marie (McGough) Travis. Preceded in death by first wife Mary (Lee), son in law Myron Fisher, sisters Sarah Ressler, Bessie Lee and foster brother Larry Franks. Survived by wife of 19 years, Edna Mae (Fye) and daughters, Diane Fisher, Jackson Twp.; Georgina Travis, Ebensburg and step children Cindy Price, Edna Rambeau, George Rambeau, and Jon Rambeau. 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sisters, Dorothy Noble and Irene Keilman and brother James Travis. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and pet cockatiel, Kellie Joe. Member of Church of God. WW II Army veteran. Retired from Bethlehem Mines. Member Nanty Glo American Legion, UMWA District 2, and N.R.A. An avid hunter and fisherman. George enjoyed going to flea markets and dining out. Friends will be received from 11am until time of funeral service at 1 pm on Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Walt Misner, officiating. Interment United Brethren Cemetery, Belsano. Military Rite will be held at the funeral home at 12:30pm by local veterans organizations.
