HARRIS - Richard M. "Dick," 85, Laurel View Village, Davidsville, formerly of Ebensburg, died May 20, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 14, 1924, in Portage, son of Michael and Mary (Sax) Harris. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Delores J. Harris; and sister, Louise Harris. Survived by daughters, Deborah Ann (Spochart), wife of V. Joseph Miller, Ebensburg; and Denise Ann, wife of William LeHew, Johnstown. Also survived by grandsons: Michael Spochart, and wife, Brandi; David Spochart, and wife, Nichole; Eric LeHew, and fiancee, Dana; and Brian LeHew; and great-grandsons, Kyler and Hunter Spochart. Brother of Edward Harris, Leesburg, Fla. Retired operating engineer since June 17, 1942, and recording secretary for Local 66. Member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 681 in Ebensburg, and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Dick enjoyed gardening, carpentry and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville, where a vigil will be held for the deceased that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Benscreek, Father Angelo Patti, celebrant. Committal in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Germany.
