Obituary of Nancy Sassano

SASSANO – Nancy, 85, Ebensburg, died June 5, 2009, in Altoona. Born July 23, 1923, in Altoona, daughter of Michael and Florence (Pagella) DeCriscio. Preceded in death by parents, two sisters and eight brothers. Survived by children, Richard, San Antonio, Texas; Florence, wife of Gary Freeh, East Liverpool, Ohio; Paul, and fiancee, Maria Hammond, and David, both of Ebensburg; seven grandchildren, Michelle, James, Adam, Eric, Jeffrey, Stephanie and Nathan; and two great-grandchildren, Breanne and Katie. Sister of William DeCriscio and Edmund DeCriscio, both of Altoona. Member of Ebensburg VFW Post 4963 Auxiliary. Formerly employed at Ebensburg Senior Citizens and Ebensburg State Center. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Monday evening. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg.
