Obituary of Catherine M. Rose

ROSE – Catherine M., 87, of Ebensburg, died June 16, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 29, 1922 in Johnstown. daughter of the late Valentine and Susanna (Dolak) Figula. Preceded in death by husband, Lawrence Rose. Survived by children, Lawrence (Pat), Florida; Mark (Sandy) Hollidaysburg; Roger (Mary Anne), Gallitzin; Linda (Tom) Martin, Nanty Glo; Gary (Mary), Ebensburg; and Pat Rose, Virginia. 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. Also survived by a half-sister; half-brother; brother in law and many nieces and nephews. Member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Altoona-Johnstown Cursio, and Ebensburg Senior Citizens. Catherine enjoyed swimming and was a WW II Army WAC veteran. Retired housekeeper from Laurel Crest Manor. Friends will be received from 6-8pm Thursday and from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes., Inc., Ebensburg, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass 10:30am Saturday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Commital, St. Anthony Cemetery, Johnstown. Military rites by Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to Holy Name School Angel Fund.
