HAWK – Dolores V. “Dee”, “Dodo”, 78, of S. Ebensburg passed away June 19, 2009 at home. Born Jan. 2, 1931 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Kermit and Sara (Hockensmith) Younkin. Preceded in death by husband, Lloyd B. “LB” Hawk, daughter, Denise Hawk, and brothers, Kermit Jr., and Clarence Younkin. Survived by daughter, SallyAnn (Rev. Stanley) Nixon, Portage; Grandsons, Jeremy, Portage; Jerrod (Ashley), Mundys Corner; Great Grandson, Zachery; and granddaughter in law, Kelly. Also survived by sisters, Anita Hawk, Texas; ElsieLee Grove, Connecticut; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Ebensburg United Methodist Church, where she had been very active for many years. Past president United Methodist Women. Former craft instructor for PA Assoc. of the Blind, Johnstown and Ebensburg. A gathering of family and friends will be held from noon until time of memorial service at 1 pm on Saturday June 27 at Ebensburg United Methodist Church, the Rev. Roger Johnson, officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Dee’s memory may be made to Ebensburg United Methodist Church Window Fund. Arrangements by the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
