WATSON - William Lloyd “Killer”, 85, died at 2:10 p.m. June 20, 2009 at Vista Woods Care Center, Ottumwa, Iowa. He was born January 21, 1924 in Pittsburgh, son of the late William Henry and Luella (Lloyd) Watson. He married Henrietta “Henna” Harris on May 23, 1945 in Ebensburg; she preceded him in death April 2, 2007. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Olivia Watson, Dorothy “Dot” Blanchard and Susan Simoneau. Surviving are two daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Schwenk of Ottumwa and Wendy (Vince) Smiley of Tinley Park, IL; a son, William C. (Cynthia) Watson of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren, Alyssa and Laura Schwenk, Jessica and Michael Burrus, William A. and Sally Watson; a sister, Mary Lou Wildman of Hershey, PA; a brother-in-law, Rene Simoneau of Ashland, NH and numerous nieces and nephews. A resident of Ottumwa since 1997, he was a graduate of Ebensburg Cambria High School and attended Penn State. He served in the U.S. Army in Hawaii during World War II. He preformed in the Schubert Theatre on Broadway with the USO in the show, “3 Day Pass”. A political consultant and lobbyist for the medical profession, he had been executive director for AMPAC, mainly located out of Chicago until retiring to South Carolina. He earned his FACHE accreditation and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion in Ebensburg. He was a member of the Ebensburg First Presbyterian Church where he had been a deacon and an elder. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Lloyd Cemetery in Ebensburg. Memorials contributions many be made to Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa. The Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.
