ADAMS - Robert J., 56, of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2009 at home, surrounded by family. Born September 8, 1952 in Pittsburgh, son of the late John J. and Josephine M. (Bombara) Adams. Preceded in death by sister Roseann, father-in-law and mother-in-law Celestine and Elizabeth Frank; sister-in-law Mary Louise Frank, and brother-in-law Joseph Frank. Survived by loving wife, the former Darlene Frank, to whom he was married 36 years, and daughters: Andrea, wife of Matt Stegmaier, Gerradstown, West Virginia; Alicia, wife of Eric Newman, Hedgesville, West Virginia; Alana Adams of Philadelphia; grandchildren Ethan and Elizabeth Stegmaier, sister, Donna Adams, of Pittsburgh; brothers Thomas (MaryEllen) Adams, Bradenton, Florida and Raymond Adams, Pittsburgh. Also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard W. (Marilyn) Frank, Hastings; Paul (Joann) Frank, James (Judy) Frank, William (Donna) Frank, Fred (Rosetta) Frank, George (Mildred) Frank, Ronald (Joyce) Frank, Shirley Ann Frank, Robert (Karen) Frank, and Thomas Frank, all of Ebensburg; and sister-in-law, Marian Frank-Gearhart of Altoona. Bob was employed as a LPN at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. A member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Holy Name Bowling League, American Legion Post 363, Ebensburg, and UMWA Local 1368. Raised in Pittsburgh, Bob was a graduate of South Hills High School and the Connley Vo-tech, where he gained a love and appreciation for woodworking and cabinet making. As a young man he had been employed in cabinet shops near Pittsburgh and as an adult, loved to create beautiful kitchen islands, televisions stands and dressers. Many family members have enjoyed his artistry in cabinets and nik naks. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Friends will be received from 2-8 pm, Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Thursday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home Activities Fund, attn. Judy Kataklo, P.O. Box 319, Hollidaysburg, Pa. 16648.
