WOJCIK – Stanley "Sonny" Jr., 61, Ebensburg, was a loving son, father, grandfather and brother who passed away peacefully Aug. 4, 2009, after fighting a long battle with lung cancer. Sonny was the son of Stanley "Staush" Sr. and Mary Wojcik. Preceded in death by mother and former wife, Jenny Wojcik. Survived by father, Ebensburg; and sons, John Wojcik and Aaron Wojcik. Brother of Patty Sikora and Kathy Marchu. Also survived by and will be deeply missed by his best friend and confidant, Theresa "Terry" Alexander; and countless other close family members. Sonny spent most of his life in Ebensburg, where he and his parents, Stanley Sr. and Mary, owned Karen Jewelers for several decades. Sonny was a disabled veteran who served in the 911 Air Lift Wing, Air Force Reserve based out of Pittsburgh during the Vietnam War. He was past commander of Ebensburg American Legion Post 363 and member of VFW Post 4963, Ebensburg. Former member of Knights of Columbus and Moose Lodge. Sonny enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil funeral service will be held Friday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society in Sonny's memory.
