GREEN– Rodger L., 58, Homer City, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, in Bedford as the result of a truck accident. Born Dec. 22, 1950, in Belsano, son of George W. and Erma (McCullough) Green. Mr. Green was a graduate of Blacklick Valley High School and was a member of Penn Run Wesleyan Church. He worked as a truck driver for M and C Trucking, as a coal miner for Florence Mining and at McCreary Tire. Mr. Green enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, but most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Cynthia M. (Ganoe) Green; his children, Daniel S. Green, and wife, Jennifer, Homer City; Heather L. Syster, and husband, David, Clymer; and Holly N. Boldin, and husband, Gary, Homer City; seven grandchildren, Allyssa Green, Abigail Green, Hanna Green, Emileigh Syster, Brady Syster, Brooklyn Syster and Autumn Boldin; one sister, Twila Cogar, Belsano; mother-in-law, Mary Ganoe, Brush Valley; sister-in-law, Kathy Twigg, and husband, Brian, Brush Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ernest Green; and his father-in-law, George Ganoe. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Robinson-Lytle Inc., Indiana, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Pastor Tom Pugh officiating. Interment, Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
