STRAYER – Regis A., 80, Madison, Ohio, died Aug. 14, 2009, in Geneva, Ohio. He was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Nanty Glo, where he was a former resident. He was a retiree of General Motors Fisher Body in Euclid, Ohio, where he worked for 38 years, and was a member of UAW Local 1045. Mr. Strayer served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1949. Survivors are his wife, Alma R. (Gallagher) (Steele) Strayer; sons, Shelby F. (Diane) Steele; Richard M. Strayer; and Brian A. Strayer; daughter, Ann L. Seketa; sister, Donna Scafe; sister-in-law, Bridgette Knoboch; brother-in-law, Vito Johncola; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins in the Johnstown area. He was preceded in death by daughters, Mary E. Steele and Catherine "Cathi" Kelly; son, Steven Leo Strayer; sisters-in-law, Kathryn (Shaw) Johncola and Lavina M. (Labarko) Rollie; and brothers-in-law, Raymond D. Shaw Sr., Joseph Labarko, Joseph Rollie and Paul Scafe. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road (Route 528), Madison. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio. Donations suggested to the American Heart Association.
