JOHNSTON – John L. “ Jack”, 59, of Revloc, passed away Sept. 19, 2009 at Altoona Hospital. Born July 7, 1950 in Johnstown, son of the late Harvey L. and Alice E. (McGowan) Johnston. Preceded in death by nephew, David “Boots” Prazinko. Survived by wife, the former Annette Shaw; and daughters, Krista Johnston and fiancé Jonathan Neumann; Diana Johnston; and Cheri Johnston; stepsons, Jerry McCahan, Jr.; and Josh McCahan. 7 grandchildren; sister, Judith (William) Prazinko; brother, Harvey “Gene” (Anne) Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Employed by Ebensburg Power Company. Retired from Bethlehem Mine 33. US Air Force veteran. Member of American Legion. Lifetime member of the Revloc Volunteer Fire Company. An avid hunter, Steeler fan, and gardener. Jack was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30am until time of memorial service at 11am Thursday at the Revloc Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Charles Blaisdell, officiating. Arrangements by the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers donation in Jack’s memory may be made to the Revloc Volunteer Fire Co.
