STIRBA – Helen E., 82, Penn Run, formerly of Ebensburg, died Oct. 24, 2009, in Penn Run. Born May 9, 1927, in Johnstown, daughter of the late John and Anna (Scherba) Tomchik. Helen was the sister of Joseph, Mike, Margaret, Anna West, Mary Lansberry, Stephen and John. Employed by Cambria County Association for the Blind and Handicapped, Ebensburg. She attended Senior Citizens in Ebensburg, and was an avid bingo player. No public viewing or visitation. Memorial funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Monica's Catholic Church, Chest Springs, the Rev. Joseph Fleming. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. Funeral arrangements by Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.
