MARDIS – George Webster, 85, Ebensburg, died Jan. 24, 2010, at Altoona Hospital. Born May 25, 1924, in Belsano, son of William and Vada (Webster) Mardis. Preceded in death by parents and wife, the former Joyce Roberts, who passed away in 1989. Survived by daughter, Lisa Lee, and husband, Alvie Roy Lewis, Ebensburg; son, Brian William, and wife, Loretta Mardis, Sunnyvale, Calif.; and grandchildren, Natalie Rae Mardis and James Byron Mardis. George had a beloved cat named Ebenezer. Navy veteran of World War II and retired from C and I Railroad, Colver. In the past few years, George attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Johnstown with his daughter. George also enjoyed working on antique and new cars. No public viewing or visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. Funeral arrangements by Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.
