MILLER – George S., 80, Ebensburg, died Feb. 13, 2010, at Select Specialty, Lee Campus. Born June 23, 1929, in Stoystown, son of William H. and Mable E. (Crum) Miller. Preceded in death by parents, and daughter, Joy Chowaniec. Survived by children, Peggy (Mark) Lauer, Ebensburg; Cheryl Wess, and fiance, Mark Siska, Johnstown; and Mark (Lisa) Miller, Michigan; son-in-law, Rick Chowaniec, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Brother of Warren Ray (Louise) Miller, Cresson; Arleen Adams, Summerhill; and Dean Miller, Cresson. Formerly employed by Stevens MFG and Casale MFG, both of Ebensburg. Retired from Advance Friction Material, Michigan. George was an outstanding sousaphone (tuba) player in high school. George loved the outdoors, fishing and gardening. His grandchildren were very important in his life. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Lung Association, Johnstown, in George's memory.
