Obituary of Mary Rabel

RABEL – Mary "Mamie," 90, formerly of Nanty Glo, died peacefully Feb. 18, 2010, after a courageous six-month battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Rabel. Survived by daughters, Bonnie Tubo (Lewis), Hartville, Ohio; Jan Rabel (Michael), Mineral Point; Sharon Carmel (Jack), Uniontown, Ohio; and Debbie Fazzone (Bert) Willoughby Hills, Ohio; and a sister, Zella.Preceded in death by three sisters; one brother; a grandchild, Lisa; and a great-grandchild, Nicki. Grandmother to seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchild- ren and one great-great-grandchild. Affectionately also called "Me Me," she lived most of her life in Nanty Glo and retired from Ebensburg State School in 1979. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society. She moved to Tallmadge Acre Apartments in Ohio 10 years ago and played pokeno several times a week until recently. Even in later years with limited eyesight and hearing, she continued to cook and loved decorating for the holidays. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo.
