RABEL – Mary "Mamie," 90, formerly of Nanty Glo, died peacefully Feb. 18, 2010, after a courageous six-month battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Rabel. Survived by daughters, Bonnie Tubo (Lewis), Hartville, Ohio; Jan Rabel (Michael), Mineral Point; Sharon Carmel (Jack), Uniontown, Ohio; and Debbie Fazzone (Bert) Willoughby Hills, Ohio; and a sister, Zella.Preceded in death by three sisters; one brother; a grandchild, Lisa; and a great-grandchild, Nicki. Grandmother to seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchild- ren and one great-great-grandchild. Affectionately also called "Me Me," she lived most of her life in Nanty Glo and retired from Ebensburg State School in 1979. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society. She moved to Tallmadge Acre Apartments in Ohio 10 years ago and played pokeno several times a week until recently. Even in later years with limited eyesight and hearing, she continued to cook and loved decorating for the holidays. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo. Memorial donations can be made in her name to Hospice Visiting Nursing Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
