YAKICIC – Edna (Nedimyer) (Kitchick), 92, Portage, died Feb. 11, 2010, at Maple Winds Nursing Home. Born June 23, 1917, in Summerhill, daughter of Anselm and Martha (Smith) Nedimyer. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph; sisters, Margaret New; infant sister, Marie; June Minor; and Florine Hamilton; and brothers, James and Andrew. Survived by sons, Donald Kitchick, husband of the late Helen (Nihart), Spring City, and Vincent Kitchick, husband of Shirley (Evans), Summerhill; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Also sister-in-law, Lois Nedimyer, Ebensburg. Retired from Ebensburg State Center and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of Summerhill. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Friday evening. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, St. Mary's Cemetery, New Germany. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Holy Name Church or St. John's Church, Summerhill, in Edna's memory.
