BYRNE – Edward J., 52, Loretto, died Feb. 23, 2010, at home. Born Sept. 4, 1957, in Johnstown, son of Merle Sr. and Pauline (Koons) Byrne. Preceded in death by father; infant sisters, Lois and Diane; and infant brother, Merle Jr. Survived by mother, Loretto; and brothers and sisters, Janet (John) Steiner, Philipsburg; Paul (Sue) Byrne, Carrolltown; Eileen (Chuck) Ruffing, Indiana; Joyce (John) Archey, Gallitzin; Marcia (Pat) Lieb, Penn Run; and Dennis (Kathy) Byrne, Ebensburg. Employed at First National Bank, Johnstown, and was an usher at Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be said at 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, Monsignor Timothy Swope. Committal, St. Michael's Cemetery, Loretto.
