HAYES – Ruth E. (Gongloff), 86, Nanty Glo, died March 10, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 11, 1923, in Vintondale, daughter of the late Grant and Edith (Gardner) Gongloff. Preceded in death by husband, William S. Sr.; son, Ronald; sisters, Mary Gongloff, Elizabeth Ronk and Virginia Ondriezek; brothers, Lloyd, Ray, Grant, Charles and John; and daughter-in-law, Linda. Survived by children, Sister Patricia Hayes, CSA, New York City; William S. (Diane), Seward; Kathleen (Stuart) Whinnie, Vinco; Joseph (Cathy), North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Mary (Eugene) Makin, Belsano; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, Orville (Grace), Nanty Glo. Member of St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo. She drove bus for Stephen's Transportation. She enjoyed her family, golfing, bowling and sewing. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be held Friday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Martin A. Cingle, celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association.
