SEDILKO – Charley, 83, Nanty Glo, died April 2, 2010, at UPMC Presbyterian. Born Oct. 28, 1926, in Hooversville, son of the late John and Helen (Shimchock) Sedilko. Preceded in death by daughter, Patricia Bock; brothers, John, Nicholas and Andrew; and sisters, Helen, Liz, Agnes and Pauline. Survived by wife, the former Ann Deskevich, Nanty Glo; children, Andrea (David) Covolo, Nanty Glo; Marty (Andrea), Plum; and Annette (Carl) Ritner, Hummelstown; grandchildren, Lynn Covolo, Colton and Madison Sedilko and Billy Ritner; and sisters, Eva Bennett, Uniontown, and Margaret Ruman, Connecticut. Member of Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Nanty Glo. Retired coal miner and worked at Bethlehem Mines for 38 years. Member of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II, where he received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal. Member of the Nanty Glo Senior Citizens. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Parastas will be held at 7 p.m. Monday. Panachida will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. at Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Father George Hnatko. Interment, Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nanty Glo Public Library or Liberty Museum. Military service will be held by local veterans organizations.
