ARDINI – Joseph J., 63, of Ebensburg, passed away April 11, 2010 at Miners Medical Center. Born March 31, 1947 in Johnstown, son of the late Amelio and Roberta Lorene (Rummel) Ardini. Preceded in death by sister, Laurie Hill. Survived by wife of 43 years, the former Theresa Hoffman and children, David (Stacy Carney), Mt. Joy; Joseph M. (Teresa Jefferies), Manheim; Holly (Jonathan) Adams, Smyrna, GA; and Janine (Art) Adams, Manheim; his trusted dog, Beau; and grandchildren: Logan, Matthew, Erika, Evan, Breanne, Cody and Noah. Brother of Richard (Evelyn) Ardini, Revloc; and William (Mary Lou) Ardini, Nanty Glo. Also survived by step-father, Robert E. Vivis, Nanty Glo; brother –in-law Fred Hill, Nanty Glo; and sister-in-law, Carol (Bryan) Simmons, of Elizabethtown; Joe was a retired mine safety inspector with the Pennsylvania Department of Environment Protection Agency. Member of SS. Timothy & Mark Roman Catholic Church, Twin Rocks. Member of Ebensburg American Legion, VFW, and Moose, and the Colver Sportsmans Club. Joe loved to spend the first days of dear season with his sons. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Ebensburg, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr Arnold L. Gaus, and Rev. James H. Conrad, STL, celebrants. Committal at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to Penn State - Hershey, Office of University Development, Attn: PSCH - Cancer Research, PO Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033. Family wishes to extend special thanks to Hershey Medical Center, Dr.Brian Lieb & Staff, Rick & Evelyn Ardini and Agnes & Dan Murphy for their assistance during Joe’s illness..
