BRUNATTI – Alfonso S., 88, Duncansville, formerly of Bakerton, died April 11, 2010, at Altoona Hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1922, in Colver, son of Oresto and Inocenza (Varoni) Brunatti. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Alma Girolami; son, Timothy; and infant son, James. Survived by daughters, Sandra Lee, wife of Jeffrey Mertens, McMurry, Pa.; and Candice, wife of Timothy James, Duncansville; grandchildren, Erik Mertens, Tracy Dabkowski, T. Michael James, Sarah James and Alyssa Brunatti-Bassi; and great-grandchildren, Jake and Gabin Dabkowski and Elena, Ryder and Talia Mertens. Also survived by numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and their families. Navy veteran of World War II. Member of Carrolltown American Legion and Bakerton VFW. He retired as field superintendent with Hyle & Patterson Coal Preparation Plants. Al enjoyed traveling, going to casinos and mastering the computer at age 85. No public viewing or visitation. Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Church Narthex, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name Haiti Fund, 500 N. Julian St., Ebensburg, Pa. 15931, or to a library of your choice in Al’s memory.
