ASKEW – Kathryn (Lombardo), a resident of Garvey Manor, passed away April 24, 2010 at the Manor. Born September 15, 1917 in Young Twp., daughter of the late Antonio and Carmella (Gunieri) Lombardo and step-father Agatino Lentine. Kay, formerly of Barnesboro and Ebensburg made her home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for many years before moving to Williamsburg, Virginia due to poor health and subsequently back home to Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh William “Bill” to whom she was married 37 years, her brothers Angelo “Lubb” Lentine and Jim Linden, and sister Pearl Smorto. Also preceded by infant sisters Grace and Lora and an infant brother Santos. Survived by daughters: Carolyn (Bill) Merritt, Williamsburg, Virginia; Barbara (Tom) Soper, Ebensburg; grandchildren: Bill (Daphne) Norfleet and Susan Norfleet, all of Virginia; Kathryn (Nick) Viggiani, New York; Lee Ann (Cameron) Young, of Richmond; great-grandchildren: Michael (Amanda) Spencer, Mitchell (Elizabeth) Spencer, Cory Wright, Trent & Merritt Young, all of Virginia, Jennifer and Nicky Viggiani, New York; and great-great grandson Cameron Spencer, of Virginia. Sister of John Linden and Michael (Elaine) Lentine; Sisters-in-law: Marge, Vicki, and Lois Askew and Ruth Lentine; Brother-in-law Harold Askew; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathryn was loved and admired by many for her independent spirit, she loved to travel and was fortunate to have traveled all over the world. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr Arnold L. Gaus, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery.
