BOWMAN - Bernadine A., 91, of Jackson Twp., and formerly of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord, April 26, 2010 at The Village at Mundy’s Corner. Born April 27, 1918 in Spangler, daughter of the late Anslem and Appalona (Yeager) Kruise. Preceded in death by husband Dwight, sister Ruth Hockensmith, brothers Ronald and Lyle James Kruise, daughter-in-law Janet (Hulslander) Bowman, and sons-in-law: Jerry Kulinski and Eugene Charles. Survived by children: Wanda (Calvin) Sheeder, The Villages, FL.; Margie (Will) Bailey, Colver; Devonne (Shirley Graham) Bowman, East Taylor Twp.; Jeanne (Clark) Rose, Coraopolis; Diane (Chuck) Meadows Terre Haute, IN; Caren (Barry) Turner, Lolo, Montana; Gale (Vivian Mutch) Bowman, State College; Dale (Mary Allison) Bowman, Armaugh; Darell (Susan Kane) Bowman, Ebensburg; 25 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by brother Hershel Kruise, Copperas Cove, Texas; brother-in-law Donald Bowman, Strongstown; and several nieces and nephews. Member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mundys Corner, where she had been active with the Altar Guild. Retired from the Ebensburg Center (State School). Her life was her family, she was the model homemaker and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Special thanks is extended to the Village at Mundys’ Corner as well as the caring staff of Asera Care Hospice. Friends will be received from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mundys Corner, the Rev. Nelson Ilgenfritz, officiating. Interment at Ogden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Building Fund or Asera Care Hospice.
