SMILEY – Elizabeth “Betty,” 63, Colver, joined the Lord April 26, 2010, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born Oct. 6, 1946, in Loretto, daughter of Henry Frederick and Genevieve (Barrett) Frederick-Day. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Albert Frederick and Matthew Frederick. Survived by husband, James R.; children, Alesia, and husband, John McCann, Ebensburg; and Pamela, and husband, Thomas Lamar; James K. Smiley, and wife, Shelly; and Douglas Smiley, and wife, Jeannie, all of Colver; and grandchildren, Brittany, Kelsey and Hunter Lamar; Robert and Daniel DeBalli; Kyle, Kayla, Kasen and Keyan Smiley; and Cody, Carissa and Cassie Smiley. Sister of Janet, and husband, Don Lichtenfels. Also survived by niece, Betty Richards, and her late husband, Calvin; and cousin, Calvin Richards. Retired from Laurel Crest Manor as a CNA for many years. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted her life to her family and will be sadly missed. The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Unit of Memorial Medical Center, Davita Dialysis and many home hospice people and Dr. Chris Paronish and his staff. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Colver Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Charles Blasdell. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Pancreatic Cancer Society at Johnstown Hospice in Betty’s memory.
