FITZ - Herman, 95, Nanty Glo, died April 25, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 14, 1910, in Jackson Township, son of the late Frank and Mary (Christ) Fitz. Preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Carl, John and Oscar, and sister, Annie Rager. Surviving are his wife, the former Minnie Nischalke, Nanty Glo; daughter, Elaine Furman, and husband, Don, Nanty Glo; grandchildren, Gary, Tammy, Patsy and Betty "Boo"; great-grandchildren, Gary Jr., Ben and Don; and great-great-grandchildren, Blake, Brady and Abby. Member of the Jackson Township Rod and Gun Club; Nanty Glo Moose, Lodge 207; Nanty Glo Polish Club; and Nanty Glo VFW, Post 3489; Sinnamahoning Sportsman Club. Retired truck driver from Ward Trucking Co. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Ronald Peoples officiating. Interment to follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Laurel Mountain Bible Church.
