DESCAVISH – Joseph, 74, Ebensburg, died Nov. 16, 2010, peacefully at home with his wife and children by his side. Born April 7, 1936, Johnstown, son of Louis and Catherine (Jastrenki) Descavish. Preceded in death by parents; brother, George “Corky”; sisters, Rose, Ann and Kay; and an infant sister. Survived by loving wife, the former Linda Lutman; and children, Craig, and wife, Dana; Nicole, and husband, Jody Makin; Todd, and wife, Shannon; his cat, Riley, who was always by his side; and grandchildren, Brianna Gillin, Bryce Descavish, Jordan and Colton Makin and Aarron and Cienna Lauer. Brother of Mike, John, Judy and Mary, all of Garden City, Mich.; Jean, Bliss, N.Y.; and Steve and Millie, both of Ebensburg. Retired from Cambria Township Road Crew after 40 years of service. Member of Revloc Volunteer Fire Company. Joe “Pappy” love to take pictures of his grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, the Rev. Bill Plummer, officiating. Private burial service at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Conemaugh Hospice in Joe’s memory.
